Trail Rides

Fifty Years

Plan to Attend the 2010 Club Trail Ride

The club will again sponsor the annual trail ride on June 18-20, 2010 at Missouri River State Park.

Come and join us at the Little Missouri State Park for a trail ride along the Little Missouri Breaks Country. Called the "Mako Shika" or "where the land breaks" by the Sioux, these unusual land formations offer the state's most awe-inspiring scenery. Most of this primitive park's 30 miles of trails are accessible only on foot or horseback.

Electrical hookups are available to campers along with corrals for horses. Certified weed-free hay is required and is available for sale at the park. Here is the website for the park - http://www.ndparks.com/Parks/lmbsp.htm

When you look at the map of the campground, we have reserved the site at the SE corner. It has a shelter and corrals. The campers and trailers park all the way around the area. Plan to bring potluck dishes and your choice of meat to grill. We'll plan to share an evening meal on Saturday night and finish up the leftovers on Sunday at noon. The club will provide a ranch breakfast both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Since this is a primitive campground, you may want to bring
along a portable grill if you have one.

The entrance fees are $5 per day per vehicle; $10 per night for a campsite with electricity or $8 per night without electricity. Horses are $6 per day which includes use of trails and corrals. Bill Cook has reserved the corrals for the club for the weekend.

We need a count for food and corrals, so please email or call Bill & Jeanette Cook with the number of horses and riders you will be bringing. (701) 843-7156 or click here to email. If you don't have a camper and would like to stay in a cabin, Badlands Trail Rides is just around the corner. Their website is: http://badlandstrailrides.com and they also have horses available if you don't want to bring your own.
